A professional Life Care Planner will conduct interviews with the injured party, family members, caregivers, and all health care professionals treating the injured party. They will prepare lists and cost of medications needed by the injured, all medical and adaptive equipment needed, as well as associated costs of maintaining and replacing that equipment. The Life Care Planner details future anticipated surgeries, evaluations, and therapeutic interventions/modalities. Home care, facility care, diagnostic and educational testing, orthotics and prosthetic supplies are also detailed and included in a well-executed Life Care Plan.

Items needed by the injured in the home setting are also included in the Life Care Plan, such as specialty beds, wheel chair ramps, and patient lifts. If architectural renovation of the injured individual's home is required to meet their needs, the Life Care Planner will detail and list the modifications needed, as well as the associated maintenance costs to keep these renovations in proper order. Transportation needs are also addressed in a thorough Life Care Plan, such as specialty vans and accessories for the van. Cost of maintenance and replacement of these items are also considered and included.

Health and strength maintenance needs of the catastrophically injured are also considered and included in a well-designed Life Care plan. A professional Life Care Planner will also ensure that the Accepted Standard of Practice is met for each item in a Life Care Plan and that the appropriate foundation for each item is met. Dr. Walker also offers an analysis and critique of existing plans to ensure the Accepted Standards of Practice are met for such plans. Consultation services are also available.
